This year the Eight Seasons exhibition will be on display at the Forestry Museum in Lycksele - an object and picture narrative on the life and history of the Sami people.

The name of the exhibition refers to the Sami traditionally having divided the year into eight seasons in order to describe the seasonal changes.

Samisk näringslivsdag/samisk festival - Marknad i Lycksele betyder folkfest och tusentals besökare kommer till Staden i Lappland från när och fjärran. Ca. 25000 besökare är ingen ovanlig siffra. I år blir det även en Samisk festival i samband med Lycksele samevecka och Lycksele vintermarknad. Den börjar med en filmkväll fredag 5 mars kl. 18-24 på MB. På lördag blir det Samisk Näringslivsdag vid Dansens hus från kl. 8-16. Vi bjuder på föreläsningar, utställningar, renkörning, försäljning, matservering, berättarstunder runt elden mm. Liksjuon sámievahkkuo, The Lycksele Sami Week 2010

Now it is time for this year's Liksjuon sámievahkkuo, the Lycksele Sami Week. It will start on February 28 with a lecture/debate at Hotell Lappland, and then there is a crammed programme through the whole week, ending with a church service and a Sami antiques round.

Lycksele SK (Sports Club) and Lycksele welcome you to the Lycksele Market, March 5 -7, 2010!

Trade in Lycksele has a long history. as early as in the 17th century the first markets were arranged, where the Sami and tradesmen from the coast did their business. Ever since then the market tradition has been kept alive. Still there are two annual markets: the spring/winter market in early March and the autumn market in late September.
