Eight Seasons

Nyheter >> Senaste nytt

This year the Eight Seasons exhibition will be on display at the Forestry Museum in Lycksele - an object and picture narrative on the life and history of the Sami people.

The name of the exhibition refers to the Sami traditionally having divided the year into eight seasons in order to describe the seasonal changes.

General information: The Stöttingfjället Fishery Conservation Area is situated about 40 kilometres north of Lycksele along Rd 360 towards Vilhelmina. Here the Öre River starts its meandering journey down to the sea.

Fishing:
In the current sections of the Öre River there is grayling and trout. There are nice current sections between "Åkroken" and the Mill. In Lake Södra Saddijaure there is big perch and pike. In Lake Alsträsket there is good perch fishing.

Fishing rules:
Only angling with hand tackle is allowed within the Stöttingfjället Fishery Conservation Area. Minimum size for grayling and trout is 35 centimetres.

Fishery conservation:
The Stöttingfjället Fishery Conservation Area needs your help in order to preserve good fishing for the future. Bad fishing ethics, e.g. overfishing, may ruin good natural stocks of grayling and trout . The waters in northern Sweden are generally nutrient-poor and sensitive, and therefore fishing must be pursued with this fact in mind. Catch one or two fish for eating if you wish, but please restore carefully other fish to the water.
