This year the Eight Seasons exhibition will be on display at the Forestry Museum in Lycksele - an object and picture narrative on the life and history of the Sami people.

The name of the exhibition refers to the Sami traditionally having divided the year into eight seasons in order to describe the seasonal changes.

From a historical point of view Lycksele has for long been regarded as the trade centre for southern Lapland. In recent years several well-known chain stores established themselves here, another proof of Lycksele's commercial importance in the area. New building activities and the establishment of new businesses strengthen the strong belief in the future that already prevails in the Municipality of Lycksele.

In Lycksele there is shopping and trading going on in central Lycksele as well as in the outskirts of the town. Apart from the town centre with unique shops as well as chain stores we have smaller trading centres outside the centre, where national trading chains have also established themselves.
