Eight Seasons This year the Eight Seasons exhibition will be on display at the Forestry Museum in Lycksele. It is an object and picture narrative on the life and history of the Sami people. The name of the exhibition refers to the Sami traditionally having divided the year into eight seasons in order to describe the seasonal changes. The exhibition starts off with the spring and the seasons may then be followed clockwise around the exhibition hall. The various duties that occurred during the year are illustrsted by about 250 unique Sami objects and works of art from Birger Nordin's Sami collection. In the collection there is everything from knives and needle houses to bear spears and sledges. The objects cover a time span from the 17th century up to modern times. The exhibition will be on display through all of 2009. For further information, go to the Forestry Museum home page.
