This year the Eight Seasons exhibition will be on display at the Forestry Museum in Lycksele - an object and picture narrative on the life and history of the Sami people.

The name of the exhibition refers to the Sami traditionally having divided the year into eight seasons in order to describe the seasonal changes.

Lycksele SK (Sports Club) and Lycksele welcome you to the Lycksele Market, March 5 -7, 2010!

Trade in Lycksele has a long history. as early as in the 17th century the first markets were arranged, where the Sami and tradesmen from the coast did their business. Ever since then the market tradition has been kept alive. Still there are two annual markets: the spring/winter market in early March and the autumn market in late September.

Ever since then this market tradition has ben kept alive. Still there are two annual markets, the spring/winter market and the autumn market. Market in Lycksele means popular festival, and thousands of visitors come to "Lapp Stockholm" from near and far. 25 000 visitors is not an unusual number. As early as Thursday evening the first of some 200 sellers arrive to put up their market stalls. On Friday morning trade starts and rolls on till Sunday evening.
