This year the Eight Seasons exhibition will be on display at the Forestry Museum in Lycksele - an object and picture narrative on the life and history of the Sami people.

The name of the exhibition refers to the Sami traditionally having divided the year into eight seasons in order to describe the seasonal changes.

The Lycksele Sami heritage is on display at the Sami residence. Here you will find cots, sheds and an old Sami girls' school. We welcome anyone with an interest in the culture of the Nordic indigenous people. The Sámi Association
 
Lycksele's own Team Pontare wound up third in the 2009 Körslaget (Choir Battle) competition on TV4.

Samisk näringslivsdag/samisk festival - Marknad i Lycksele betyder folkfest och tusentals besökare kommer till Staden i Lappland från när och fjärran. Ca. 25000 besökare är ingen ovanlig siffra. I år blir det även en Samisk festival i samband med Lycksele samevecka och Lycksele vintermarknad. Den börjar med en filmkväll fredag 5 mars kl. 18-24 på MB. På lördag blir det Samisk Näringslivsdag vid Dansens hus från kl. 8-16. Vi bjuder på föreläsningar, utställningar, renkörning, försäljning, matservering, berättarstunder runt elden mm. Arrangemang i samarbete mellan Akademi Norr/Motorfunktionen, Företagarna Västerbotten/Handslaget, Lycksele sameförening med delfinansiering via EU.
