This year the Eight Seasons exhibition will be on display at the Forestry Museum in Lycksele - an object and picture narrative on the life and history of the Sami people.

The name of the exhibition refers to the Sami traditionally having divided the year into eight seasons in order to describe the seasonal changes.

Grab your rod and go for a fishing adventure in the Municipality of Lycksele. In Lycksele there is fishing for everybody. It is not chance that fishing competitions on European and World Championship levels have been located to the waters in the Lycksele area. Here those interested in fishing can enjoy 35 000 hectares of brooks, streams, rivers, lakes and meres. There is pike and perch to almost unlimited numbers. Grayling and trout are coveted species in the current waters like the Öre and Vindel Rivers. In the latter there is also salmon. There is also a number of waters into which game fish have been put out.

In the Municipality of Lycksele you can find a lot of nice angling waters. A number of fishery conservation areas and joint ownership associations grant the use of their fishing waters to the public. You can fish in everything from meres and lakes to brooks, streams and rivers, with the untamed Vindel River as the crown of the glory. Just remember to follow the rules there are. They are there for the benefit of all and an important part of the fishery conservation work. This page only gives general information. If you are looking for more detailed information or would like to have a map of a certain fishery conservation area, you can also pay a visit to the Lycksele Tourist information office.
