Eight Seasons

Nyheter >> Senaste nytt

This year the Eight Seasons exhibition will be on display at the Forestry Museum in Lycksele - an object and picture narrative on the life and history of the Sami people.

The name of the exhibition refers to the Sami traditionally having divided the year into eight seasons in order to describe the seasonal changes.

General information: The Blåviken Fishery Conservation Area is situated about 40 kilometres north of Lycksele along the E 12. It comprises part of the Ume River, part of Brook Lycksbäcken and about ten lakes and meres. The area is well-equipped with paths and roads and very easily accessible.

Fishing:
Current fishing can take place in Brook Lycksbäcken, which has a natural stock of grayling. In Blåviken (the Ume River) there is good fishing for big pike and perch. Through collaboration with other fishery conservation areas the fishing permit for Ume River is valid from the municipal border to Storuman in the north down to the Rusfors power station.

Fishing rules:
Angling with hand tackle.

Minimum sizes:
Grayling and trout: 30 cmentimetres

Fishing permit :

  • Göta Åberg  Blåviksjön  0950-310 52
  • Elsa Hedberg Rusele  0950-300 08

Fishery conservation:
The Blåviken Fishery Conservation Area is in need of your help in order to maintain natural and good fishing also for future generations. A lack of fishing ethics may devastate our natural stocks. Particularly sensitive in our area is Brook Lycksbäcken, where too intense fishing for grayling will be harmful for the future. Catch a fish for eating if you like, but refrain from overfishing.
