Nyheter >> Senaste nytt

This year the Eight Seasons exhibition will be on display at the Forestry Museum in Lycksele - an object and picture narrative on the life and history of the Sami people.

The name of the exhibition refers to the Sami traditionally having divided the year into eight seasons in order to describe the seasonal changes.

Fishery conservation:
In order to maintain our good fishing for the future it is important to follow the fishing rules for the area in question. The waters in northern Sweden are generally nutrient-poor and sensitive to overfishing. Overfishing is of course devastating for our natural stocks. Grayling and trout are particularly sensitive. Bear in mind that small and sometimes insignificant brooks are common spawning and growth habitats for trout. If they are left in peace, we will get more and bigger fish in the main watercourses. The grayling which spawns in the spring must also be given a chance to gather for spawning in peace. Thus we will get better grayling fishing in the Vindel River.
