Eight Seasons

Nyheter >> Senaste nytt

This year the Eight Seasons exhibition will be on display at the Forestry Museum in Lycksele - an object and picture narrative on the life and history of the Sami people.

The name of the exhibition refers to the Sami traditionally having divided the year into eight seasons in order to describe the seasonal changes.

General information: The Granån Fishery Conservation Area is situated about 30 kilometres SW of Lycksele along Rd 365. The main fishing waters are the two streams: Norrån and Granån. There are also some lakes and meres.

Fishing:
In Stream Granån there is grayling and trout, mainly in the lower parts. There is perch and pike in the upper parts of Stream Granån and in the whole of Stream Norrån. You can also find trout in Lake Leksjön and in Brook Leksbäcken, even if perch is predominant. In Cove "Sjövika" in Lake Åttonträsket there is Put & Take fishing in the summer for rainbow trout with a special permit and a catch limit.

Fishing rules:
All the waters within the Granån Fishery Conservation Area are open for angling with hand tackle. A special fishing permit is required for "Sjövika".

Minimum sizes: Grayling and trout 30 centimetres.

Fishing permits :

  • Ove Persson Åttonträsk 0950-610 12
  • Bengt Risberg  Västermyrriset  0950-610 33
  • Ulf Bengtsson Vägsele 0950-240 36
  • Kent Nilsson Vägsele  0950-240 03

Fishery conservation:
The Granån Fishery Consevation Area depends on your help for future vital natural stocks of grayling and trout for generations to come. In our nutrient-poor watercourses it goes without saying not to overfish among the grayling and trout stocks in, for example, Stream Granån. Of course you may land a fish or two for eating, but please restore the rest to the water in a careful way. Thus you can come back in the future  without having devastated our sensitive natural stocks.
